Project Engineer

Ventia are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team at BlueScope Steel. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a fast-paced industrial environment with an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

About the Role

You will play a key role supporting project delivery, working closely with site execution teams, supervisors, and client engineers to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This is a casual contract on minimum 3-month term | Monday – Saturday: 6:30am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed workpacks, including: JSEA preparation, Task-specific scopes of work, Inspection & Test Checklists (ITCs), Submission and approval processes with BlueScope
• Support supervisors with resolving TQs/RFIs in collaboration with client engineers
• Assist site teams with interpreting drawings and technical documentation
• Identify and manage scope changes, including preparation and submission of variations
• Coordinate with the P6 Scheduler to: Update schedules, Integrate variations, Manage impacts to timelines due to site interfaces.

About You

• Flexible to work different working environments through BlueScope Steel
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer within heavy industrial, construction, or Shutdown environments
• Strong understanding of workpack development and site execution processes
• Experience working with client approvals and technical documentation
• Ability to manage variations and project changes
• Familiarity with P6 scheduling tools (highly regarded)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
